Heavy fall in air pollution in Hyderabad amid lockdown

Hyderabad: lockdown has led to very good environmental results. There has been a significant improvement in air quality in particular areas.

People are breathing fresh air in cities and towns. Environmentalists say that clean air is good for people struggling with respiratory problems.

The ongoing lockdown in Telangana has significantly reduced pollution. Many cities have come to the Green Zone.

Although the level of pollution may have increased after last year’s lockdown, now people are able to breathe fresh air in the form of pollution due to the second phase lockdown. There is a 20 % reduction in pollution levels in the second week compared to the first week of May.

PCB officials said that with the stringent enforcement of the lockdown, the intensity of air pollution in the city has come down significantly.
The intensity of pollution in industrial areas has also reduced significantly as before.

Pollution levels are also below normal in Pasmailaram and Bollaram areas. However, air pollution as well as noise pollution is high due to frequent vehicular traffic in the metropolis.

As lockdown improves air quality, people with respiratory problems are able to breathe comfortably.

Experts say that this lockdown has not only controlled covid-19 but also reduced air pollution.
