Hyderabad: The annual fish offerings distribution to asthma patients in Hyderabad will also be cancelled this year due to the second wave of COVID-19 epidemic and ongoing lockdown.
The Bathini family of Hyderabad announced that the event held on Mrigasira Karthi Day, usually in the first or second week of June every year, would not be held this time.
Prasad was also not distributed last year due to covid-19. He informed that in view of the present circumstances, the Bathini family has decided to cancel the fish distribution in this Mrigasira Karthi that falls on 8 June.
Fish prasadam will be prepared in small quantities for family members, he adds.
Every year people suffering from asthma and other respiratory problems reach Exhibition Grounds, Hyderabad from various states and receive fish ‘Prasadam’ from the family, which claims to have distributed it free of cost for the last 175 years.
