Hyderabad: Schools and colleges in Telangana will remain closed till June 15, as the School Education Department has extended the ongoing summer vacation on Monday.
The decision to this effect was taken by the Director of School Education after a review meeting with Education Minister Sabita Indira Reddy.
It was decided by the state government to extend the summer vacation for another ten days on Sunday, while issuing guidelines to keep all educational institutions closed on Sunday.
The state education department had earlier declared summer vacation from April 27 to May 31.
Apart from this, the state government also decided to promote all students from classes 1 to 9 studying in government and private schools for the academic year 2021-22.
The government also passed all the registered Class 10 students on the basis of internal formative assessment.
Intermediate first year students have also been promoted to second year.
