Grant National Status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri @Revanth_Anumula and Deputy Chief Minister Sri @BhattiCLP requested Prime Minister Sri @NarendraModi to grant national status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project. The CM and Deputy CM told the PM that the AP Reorganization Act, 2014 mentioned that national project status will be given to one project each in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Polavaram Project has been given national project status in Andhra Pradesh. They requested PM Modi to grant national project status to Palamuru Lift Scheme as well.

After the formation of the new government in Telangana, the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi today. On this occasion, CM Sri Revanth and Deputy CM Sri Bhatti brought many problems related to the State to the attention of the Prime Minister. As per the AP Reorganization Act, the Centre has released Rs.2,250 crores at the rate of Rs.450 crores every year from 2015 to 2019. They requested the PM to release Rs.1,800 crore pending grants for the years 2019-20, 2021-2022, 2022-2023 and 2023- 2024 financial years. They also appealed to the PM to release the pending 15th Finance Commission funds of Rs.2,233.54 crore (Rs.129.69 crores for 2022-23 and Rs.1,608.85 crores for 2023-24) immediately.

Other Issues brought to the notice of Prime Minister:

• Proposals to upgrade 14 roadways in Telangana into national highways have been sent to union government. Only two of them are approved. Requested to approve the up-gradation of remaining 12 roadways into national highways.


• The union has approved the establishment of a Tribal University in Mulugu. Admissions should be allowed from the academic year 2023-24.

• As per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, the Centre made the promise of the establishment of a Steel Plant (Bayyaram Steel Plant) in the erstwhile Khammam district. Requested the PM for the clearance of the project immediately. Indian Railways announced a coach factory in Kazipet, but the centre declared the establishment of a Periodic Overhauling Workshop. The CM and the Deputy CM urged Modi to fulfill the promise of construction of a Coach factory.

• The Union Government announced ITIR for Bangalore and Hyderabad in 2010. The Hyderabad ITIR project was put in cold storage after the change of government at the centre in 2014. The PM is requested to revive Hyderabad ITIR immediately.

• Announce Kakatiya Mega Textile Park as a Greenfield project and release enough funds. Among the seven mega textile parks identified under PM Mitra, the Kakatiya Textile Park in Warangal has been declared as a brownfield park and that did not help in raising adequate funds.

• Centre proposed to set up an IIM in every state. As there is no IIM in Telangana, The union government should establish one IIM in Hyderabad. Suitable space is already available. The state government is ready to provide necessary space for setting up the IIM.

• Two Sainik schools in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh went to the residuary AP after the bifurcation. Hence, one Sainik School should be sanctioned for Telangana in Secunderabad Cantonment area.

• As there is not a single head office of Indian Army in Southern States, requested the union government to shift Army head office in Pune to Secunderabad Cantonment.

• Resolve the pending issues surrounding the division of Government Government Companies and Corporations listed in Schedule Nine and issues with respect to other Government Institutions under the 10th Schedule of AP Reorganization Act, 2014.
